Sessions is a voice-first note-taking app for meetings, lectures, interviews, and personal thoughts. It turns audio into useful notes while keeping the current experience centered on your iPhone.
What does Sessions do?
Record a live conversation or thought, or import an existing audio file. Sessions creates a searchable transcript and can turn it into a focused summary, highlights, and action items.
Where are my recordings and notes stored?
They are stored in Sessions’ private app storage on your device. Optional Cloud Sync, shared-note links, and cloud processing can send supported content to the services you choose to enable. Each feature has a separate purpose; see the Privacy Policy.
Device backups are controlled by your Apple and system settings, not by Sessions. We recommend protecting your iPhone with a strong passcode and keeping iOS up to date.
Does transcription happen on my iPhone?
Sessions offers Apple’s on-device speech transcription for live and imported audio. Private test builds may also offer optional Cloud Transcription after you agree to its processing policy. A transcription problem does not discard the original recording, and interrupted work can resume from the locally saved file.
Do I need an account?
No account is required for the current local experience. Sessions does not need you to connect a cloud service before you can capture and organize notes. Optional account features use Sign in with Apple; Google sign-in is being prepared and will appear in supported builds.
What permissions does Sessions request?
Sessions asks only when a feature needs access:
- Microphone for live recordings.
- Notifications for optional action-item and meeting reminders.
- Calendar or Reminders only when you choose to enable those integrations.
You can change these permissions later in iOS Settings or inside the relevant Sessions setting.
Can I export my work?
Yes. Sessions is designed to let you export recordings, notes, transcripts, summaries, and action items. Content you choose to share is then handled by the destination you select.
What happens when I delete a note?
Sessions removes the note and its locally managed audio. A deleted note may still exist in a system-managed device backup until that backup is replaced or removed.
Can I record other people?
Recording laws vary by location and situation. Tell people when you are recording and obtain any consent the law or the context requires. Sessions cannot determine whether a particular recording is lawful.
How do optional cloud features work?
Cloud Sync, shared-note links, Cloud Transcription, and Cloud Insights are being developed and qualified separately. Availability depends on your build and rollout. Cloud processing requires a separate agreement; an unavailable on-device feature does not authorize an undisclosed upload.
When will Sessions be available?
Sessions is still being prepared for release. The website and App Store listing will be updated when a download date is ready to share.
